Phuket, Thailand
Just a six hour flight away is another country where skies are blue and the water isn't classified as a contaminate. And thanks to my friend Kayte's own trip here a few years ago it's been on my Bucket List ever since. Thank you John Deere for sending us to China so that this trip could even be possible.
I only had one goal, to get to do a sea canoe trip. Steve only had one goal too, to not leave the beach and pool area surrounding our hotel. Mission accomplished.
At the hotel.....
| Nothing says paradise like sunglasses and a welcoming flower lei! |
| Discovering how to kiss her own "boo boo". |
| Baby elephant. It did a daily tour at our hotel. Their hair sticks straight out like a porcupine. |
To the sea caves....The water was so calm we were even allowed to take Maeve. Pure paradise.
| Maeve on board the boat we took to get to the caves. |
| Shopping area, only reachable by sea canoe |
In front of James Bond island, site where one of the
earlier Bond movies was filmed. |
| Floating water village where we ate lunch. We had chicken, it was terrible. One could ask why we were eating chicken if we were eating on a floating village only accessible by boat. Seems like fish would have been the more obvious choice one would think... |
| Going into the caves |
| Sandbar inside a cave. Pretend our daughter doesn't still have a pacifier. |
| Wild monkey crawling on the wall inside a cave. |
| Beach bar on a sandbar. Very rustic. And very yummy drinks I might add. |
| Dancing at the bar. |
| A true dancer can only dance for so long before needing a break.... |
