There's not much better than having Halloween and your 2nd birthday all in the same month!
| Celebrating with a paper crown that came in a birthday card from Nana's friend Annie. |
| Proud birthday girl in her new dress from Shannon. |
| Admiring her "princess" cake. I have to admit that China not having hardly any conveniences has taught me that I can be rather culinaryish if forced. At least culinaryish enough to fool a two year old. |
| Immediate refusal to eat it any other way than with her tongue. Good thing we didn't have guests over. |
| Unwrapping her cards and gifts. |
And then there was Halloween. Although Americans make up a rather small majority of the expat population it's a nice touch that each year an expat volunteers to host a Trick or Treat event at our apartment complex. The local International School recognizes the holiday so most kids/parents from outside the U.S. enjoy participating too. And Mavis was lucky enough to have two costumes this year...
| The discover of window "stickers" begins....Thanks Nana for sending these! |
| Out doing the rounds. Other expats that wanted to join in the fun at our apartment came over with their decorated minivans so that they could participate too. |
| Posing with our pumpkins. The only pumpkins you can find here are small. These large ones were purchased by our apartment complex from another city and although large, are flat and therefore difficult to actually carve...so we had to get creative. |
| Dancing in outfit #2 of the evening... |
